The Colby Mine Rededication Ceremony is planned for Saturday, June 30th in conjunction with the Bessemer 4th of July activities being held from Wednesday, June 27th to Wednesday July 4th.
Ed Sandene stated that members of the Daughters of the American Revolution Onagomingkway Chapter of Marquette (DAR) are continuing to search for former Gogebic County Chapter DAR members or their descendants to assist in the ceremony as well as gathering information about the Colby Mine Memorial on Old County Road between Bessemer and Yale, erected by the Gogebic County DAR Chapter in 1940.
